What is the curriculum at La Paloma Academy?
La Paloma Academy follows the Arizona state standards, while simultaneously implementing a family values curriculum. Curriculum is purchased with the alignment of the standards in mind. Our students are taught about: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. As a part of the process of instilling family values, each class is assigned a community service project. This allows the students to implement what they have learned at school, while giving back to the community.

How much is the cost of tuition?
La Paloma Academy is a tuition free school.

Is there a mandatory dress code for the students attending La Paloma Academy?
The school uniform dress code attempts to develop student standards of dress that reduce the appearance of materialism/class status and that encourage a disciplined learning environment.

Does La Paloma Academy have a free and reduced lunch program?
La Paloma Academy does have a free and reduced lunch program. Any family that is in need, and qualifies for the program, can be rest assured that their personal information is kept confidential, and their children’s needs are being taken care of at school. Every family fills out a Free and Reduced lunch form upon enrollment.

Are the teachers at La Paloma Academy certified?
La Paloma Academy is in compliance with the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) guidelines. Our teachers are highly qualified, and many come from successful careers in the areas in which they now teach. La Paloma Academy strives to hire only the best teachers, and teachers that model our “family values.”

What is the maximum number of students allowed per class?
Our kindergarten classrooms are capped at 20 students and the teachers have full time aides as well. First , Second, and Third grade are also capped at 20 students, and Fourth through eighth grades are limited to 25 students.

Is there a sports or Physical Education program at La Paloma Academy?
La Paloma Academy has a full time Physical Education teacher, and does have a competitive sports program. All of our student athletes are taught about continuing sportsmanship at a competitive level. We have been able to win several league championships, while teaching our students to be positive student athletes.

Do you have a block schedule to help accommodate student’s needs?
La Paloma Academy has a reading block, which allows all students to read at their appropriate level. This block allows struggling readers to get help in areas where they may struggle, and at the same time the advanced students are able to receive the attention that they need. We understand the importance having all students read and achieve at their grade level, and this 90 minute block schedule allows La Paloma Academy to meet the needs of our students.

Will my student be able to receive special education services at La Paloma Academy?
All students who enroll at La Paloma Academy go through a 45-day screening, where the teachers evaluate the student’s educational needs. Students who are found to need Special Education services, as well as those who transfer with services previously in place, are tested as needed and the appropriate services are given.
