Hello everyone! I would like let everyone know that the school year is going great so far. Every time I take a stroll to visit our classrooms, students and teachers are working hard, participating in classroom exercises and being respectful.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank parents, teachers, students and staff for their incredible presentation at Heroes' Night 2009. Every year it is amazing to see such passion for our Tucson community leaders. Student essays were again very well written and touching and I am very proud of everyone. A big thank you to teachers for helping to organize the event.
Harvest Fest is coming up at the end of October for both campuses and, of course, holiday festivities will begin in the months following. Time sure does fly!
As a big advocate of reading, I encourage parents to empower their children to read, even when they're not in school. Reading builds character, imagination, language skills and so many more valuable skills. Check out this great article from Disney.
Remember to check teacher blogs weekly! Teachers have been doing a great job updating their blogs to keep you informed on all classroom news. You can find teacher information by clicking on teacher names here: http://www.lpatucson.org/teachers.
Thank you and have a great week!
To continued great learning,
Raena
