Heroes' Night & More!

9/6/11

Once again the school year is well underway, as evidenced by the busy couple of weeks we’ve had already! Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone who attended our open houses on August 31st. These open houses are a terrific opportunity for parents to meet the teachers, see the curriculum being used, attend our first PIN meeting of the school year and more.

Please remember that parents are always welcome and encouraged to play an active role in their child’s education at La Paloma. If you have questions for your child’s teacher, please feel free to call or email at any time of the year. No need to wait for parent/teacher conferences. If you’d like to volunteer in the classroom, at lunchtime or at school events, please give us a call. We have a lot of fun and educational events coming up and we can always use the extra hands. We’re more than happy to work with your schedule to find a good fit. For volunteer opportunities, please call:

Central Campus Volunteer Contact: Karen Stewart, 661-0370.

Lakeside Campus Volunteer Contact: Irma Gonzalez at 991-0960.

Looking ahead, I hope you will all mark the date to join us for our annual Heroes’ Night, taking place Friday, September 9 from 6:30 to 8:30pm on the Lakeside campus. Please join us as we once again honor our community’s and nation’s heroes.

At our Central campus, please join us Friday, September 9 at 1pm on the soccer field for our Pep/Heroes’ Assembly. We will honor all first responders and military personnel. Our assembly will also feature the amazing talent of the Palo Verde’s Pep Band.

Lastly, I hope everyone had a safe and happy Labor Day!

To continued learning,

Raena Janes
